018. Working from Yokohama (and charming Kamakura)
To prepare ourselves for the expected sensory overload of a week off in Tokyo, we took a few days to work and go slower in Yokohama.
Five days here, two and a half days working so we didn’t do a huge amount but we did manage to go on a rollercoaster, get lost in Gacha Gacha land, ride a curved escalator, find somewhere actually fantastic that could feed both of us (special mention for Everybody’s Table Yokohama), get 40,000 steps in, sleep 9 hour nights, and visit China Town (palmistry capital of the world, it seems).
We also visited the Cup Noodle museum and took a day trip to Kamakura, for a change, and had the best lunch at the funniest little backstreet cafe, where the owners felt like “characters” and afterwards visited a beautiful temple and bamboo grove. Liked Kamakura a lot, a shame we didn’t spend longer there but one for the elusive ‘next time’ maybe.
Onwards!
